Yearbooks

Yearbooks provide a valuable documentation of campus life and activities throughout the 1970s.   The first Piedmont TEC yearbook was called the Diamond and, as far as we can tell, was published only once, in 1969.   Afterwards, the yearbook was known as the Portal, perhaps as a reflection of the college’s motto, Porta ad successum.  An interesting page from the 1970 Portal shows an inspiring letter to the graduating class from a well-wisher.  The letterhead reads “The White House,” and the writer is President Richard Nixon.  We’d love to have the original in the archives if anyone knows where it is!

More to come later from other annuals…
